Collection of general information when you visit our website

When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected by means of a cookie. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider and similar information. This is exclusively information that does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person.

This information is technically necessary in order to correctly deliver the content you have requested from websites and is mandatory when using the Internet. It is processed in particular for the following purposes:

  • Ensuring a smooth connection to the website
  • Ensuring the smooth use of our website
  • Evaluating system security and stability
  • For other administrative purposes

The processing of your personal data is based on our legitimate interest in the aforementioned purposes of data collection. We do not use your data to draw conclusions about your person. The recipients of the data are only the responsible body and, if applicable, contract processors.

Anonymous information of this kind may be statistically evaluated by us in order to optimise our website and the technology behind it.

Cookies

Like many other websites, we also use so-called ‘cookies’. Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This automatically provides us with certain data such as your IP address, the browser you are using, your operating system and your connection to the Internet.

Cookies cannot be used to start programs or transfer viruses to a computer. The information contained in cookies enables us to facilitate your navigation and ensure that our web pages are displayed correctly.

Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.

Of course, you can also view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are usually set to accept cookies. In general, you can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please use the help functions of your Internet browser to find out how to change these settings. Please note that individual functions of our website may not work if you have deactivated the use of cookies.

SSL

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.

News

Based on your express consent, we will send you our newsletter or similar information at irregular intervals by email to the email address you have provided.

Your email address is sufficient to receive the newsletter. When you register to receive our newsletter, the data you provide will be used exclusively for this purpose. Subscribers may also be informed by email about circumstances relevant to the service or registration (e.g. changes to the newsletter offer or technical information).

For effective registration, we require a valid email address. To verify that a registration has actually been made by the owner of an email address, we use the ‘double opt-in’ procedure. For this purpose, we log the order for the newsletter, the sending of a confirmation email and the receipt of the response requested therein. No further data is collected. The data is used exclusively for sending the newsletter and is not passed on to third parties.

You can revoke your consent to the storage of your personal data and its use for sending the newsletter at any time. Each newsletter contains a link for this purpose. You can also unsubscribe directly on this website at any time or inform us of your wish to do so using the contact details provided at the end of this privacy policy.

Contact

If you contact us by email or via the contact form with questions of any kind, you give us your voluntary consent for the purpose of contacting you. For this purpose, it is necessary to provide a valid email address. This is used to assign the enquiry and subsequently respond to it.

The provision of further data is optional. The information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing your enquiry and for possible follow-up questions. Once your enquiry has been dealt with, your personal data will be automatically deleted.

Use of Matomo

This website uses Matomo (formerly Piwik), an open-source software for statistical analysis of visitor traffic. Matomo uses so-called cookies, which are text files stored on your computer that enable an analysis of your use of the website.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is stored on a server in Strasbourg, France.

The IP address is anonymised immediately after processing and before storage. You can prevent the installation of cookies by changing the settings of your browser software. We would like to point out that if you do so, you may not be able to use all the functions of this website.

You can decide whether a unique web analysis cookie may be stored in your browser to enable the website operator to collect and analyse various statistical data.

Use of Google Fonts

By visiting our website, you expressly agree that a connection to another server may be established to display fonts in the text. We hereby reject any further liability.

Use of Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps API to display geographical information visually. When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes and uses data about the use of the map functions by visitors. For more information about data processing by Google, please refer to Google's privacy policy. There you can also change your personal privacy settings in the privacy centre.

Detailed instructions on how to manage your own data in connection with Google products can be found here.

Embedded YouTube videos

We embed YouTube videos on some of our web pages. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. This tells YouTube which pages you are visiting. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can associate your surfing behaviour with you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.

When a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behaviour.

If you have disabled the storage of cookies for the Google Ad programme, you will not have to expect such cookies when watching YouTube videos. However, YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you wish to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser.

Further information on data protection at YouTube can be found in the provider's privacy policy at: www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/

Changes to our privacy policy

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy so that it always complies with current legal requirements or to implement changes to our services in the privacy policy, e.g. when introducing new services. The new privacy policy will then apply to your next visit.
