Shaping the future together.
In 1961, the Central Office and Seminar for Orff Schulwerk was founded at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. There, music, movement and language are treated and taught equally. Due to the constantly increasing number of students and the associated lack of space, the desire for a new building arose. In 1963, the Mozarteum opened a new building next to the Frohnburg in Salzburg-Süd, the Orff Institute.
In the years that followed, the Orff Schulwerk continued to diversify and is now recognised worldwide. Among other things, it focuses on the following areas:
The Orff Institute is the world's leading institution for training teachers in elementary music education and movement/dance education. Here, the tradition of the Orff Schulwerk is preserved and at the same time further developed scientifically and artistically-pedagogically. The Institute offers various forms of study and further training: from bachelor's and master's degree programmes to English-language and part-time courses and postgraduate programmes.
